VA Flu Shot Clinic Includes a Drive Thru

Flu (influenza) season is here and VA encourages all eligible veterans to get their free flu shot, in order to help prevent the flu.

Why should you be vaccinated?  The flu is very contagious.  It is caused by a virus that spreads from people who are infected.  Anyone can get the flu; it can make some people very sick or even cause death.  The flu vaccine can prevent the flu.

This year we are offering you many easy ways to receive your flu shot.

  1. Simply visit your Primary Care Team and ask for this vaccination.  You do not need an appointment if that is all you need.
  2. If you have an appointment with a specialist, ask to receive this vaccine during your visit.
  3. You can utilize our annual “Drive-Thru Flu Clinic” from October 21 through October 31, 2008.  This means you can get your flu shot while you are in your car!  You must bring your VA identification card (VIC) in order to receive this in-car service. Enter the Ajo gate and follow the signs.  This drive-through clinic will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, between October 21 and October 31, 2008.
  4. This year we are expanding our drive-thru flu shot clinic to include Saturday, October 25, 2008 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
