December 10, 2007

Tucson, AZ - The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), will be hosting the Tucson Garden Railroad Society during the holiday season.  Numerous operational train displays will be set-up in the R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium for patients, employees, volunteers, families, children, and especially the young at heart.  The train show will feature running model trains spanning from America's earliest model operational trains to the modern trains running on our Nation's tracks today.  The train show will be held Thursday and Friday - December 27 and 28, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.

Those attending this prize-winning train show will be treated to beautiful and dynamic scenery layouts featuring, mountain ranges, buildings, roads, and other scenic effects.  Members of the Tucson Garden Railroad Society will be on hand to explain the history of each train display, how the displays were put together, and how to learn more about the society.

"We truly appreciate the Tucson Garden Railway Society, offering this grand train show for the fourth year in a row for all of our patients and the local community" stated Jonathan H. Gardner, FACHE, Director, SAVAHCS.  "This show should add a smile to all those who see it first hand", Gardner added.

There is no cost for this and everyone is invited.  Visitors can enter through the Veterans Blvd. gate off 3601 S. Sixth Avenue, proceed east and look for parking lot "Q" for their parking requirements.  The R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium is in building 4 at the VA Medical Center.
