An important part of our mission at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) is to make sure you have the health information you need.  SAVAHCS offers a number of ways for you to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle and manage your health.

Patient Education Resource Center (PERC)
The PERC is staffed by the Veteran Health Education Coordinator and Volunteers.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed on all federal holidays.

An on-demand health information and education video system is available for all inpatient rooms and in some waiting areas.   A 24 hour music channel is included. Ask the staff for further information on how to access the system.

My HealtheVet
My HealtheVet is a free, online personal health record. It is available 24/7, wherever there is Internet access. at  If you are a VA patient and have completed the In-Person Authentication process, you can:

  • participate in Secure Messaging with your VA health care teams
  • view you VA notes (Progress Notes, as of 1/1/2013)
  • view your VA Problem list (active problems)
  • view your VA Vitals and Readings
  • View your VA Pathology, Radiology and EKG reports
  • view key portions of your DoD Military Service Information
  • get your VA Wellness Reminders
  • view your VA Appointments
  • view your VA Lab Results (Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology)
  • view your VA Allergies

Veterans discharged after 1979 can access their Blue Button military work records, including the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) codes, pay details, service dates, deployment, and retirement periods.
